Round 3 WON 17-8 against St Pauls
Well done yet again! It was far from easy - we were only up 9-8 at 3/4 time. St Pauls were a very good team however I knew we could do it - we needed to and we did! Somehow we all woke up in the final quarter with our defenders keeping them at 0 goals and our shooters more than doubling our score leading into the last quarter. Insanity! Girls imagine if we played with that intensity and focus the ENTIRE game! The main thing is we built, and we didn't give up despite injuries and sickness. I am very happy with the win and can only hope that I see more improvements in the next game! Special mention to Dana - everyone noticed your huge improvement with shooting all your practice must be paying off I am very impressed!
What an awesome season it's going to be :) Annie
Round 2 WON 19-13 against Glenwood
Well girls I told you we could win it - and you did!! Everything is always fixable and each week is going to be a step in the right direction. I was a very proud couch! What an amazing game Makeyla - you really have taken on board the advice I gave you about your shooting and you moved with such confidence and strength. Excellent feeds by our attackers especially Natalie - I saw some confident delivery although risky at times, however it paid off. Once again a fantastic defensive game - we just need to work on decreasing that space between us and our attackers so we can pick off more intercepts and get hose turnovers. Welcome back to Loz who was sick and didn't train this week - though you wouldn't have guessed it by the way she was playing! Lauren M you're really working hard at the Centre position - I know it is new for you but you are taking to it so well and with such speed!
Very very very happy :) Fingers crossed for having EVERYONE at training this week - it would be a miracle!

Round 1 LOST 10-17 to Oakhill Drive
The 13B's for 2012 are Natalie (C), Teagan, Sable, Dana, Makeyla, Lauren, Loz, and Georgia. The girls have been training hard since mid-March and were very excited for their first game against Oakhill Drive. After a slow start, the girls found their feet and had some solid passages of play. We had many attempts at goal but unfortunately could not convert. Girls you need to shake off those nerves! Good effort Makeyla for continuing to go to goal and not give up. Beautiful defensive game down the entire court, especially our circle defenders who gave us many opportunities. Scores were level at half time -7-7 - yet we dropped off in the third quarter. The girls never gave up though, getting the ball back into our circle and giving the 'shorties' Nat and Dana a go together - a new promising combination. Special mention to GA Dana whose patience and accuracy were an assett to the team on Saturday, and also did not tire in defence.
A good effort from the girls considering the team we played were apparently from A's the previous year.
We will be focusing on goal accuracy, court systems, and positioning in the next few weeks to pull off those wins I know we can get. And we WILL get there :)
